Privacy Policy
Effective 28 September 2026
BawiPOS is a point-of-sale app that works offline. Your store's data stays on your phone. This policy explains what the app keeps, what little leaves your phone, and the choices you have. "We" means the BawiPOS team, who makes BawiPOS.
In short
- Your items, sales, customers and settings are stored only on your phone. We have no server that holds them.
- BawiPOS has no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- When you buy BawiPOS Pro, the App Store or Google Play handles payment, and RevenueCat checks that your purchase is active.
- Anything else only leaves your phone when you send it yourself: a backup, a spreadsheet, a receipt or an email to us.
What BawiPOS keeps on your phone
To run your store, the app saves what you enter: store details, items, prices, costs, stock, categories, sales, refunds, shifts and cash counts, discounts, suppliers and purchase orders, photos you add, and your settings.
For some orders you may enter a customer's name, phone number or delivery address. This stays on your phone with the order.
If you set a PIN, only a salted hash of it is kept, in your phone's secure storage (the iPhone Keychain or Android Keystore). Fingerprint and face unlock are handled by your phone; BawiPOS never sees your fingerprint or face.
Questions you ask Ask Bawi are answered on your phone from your own data, and the chats are saved on your phone. They are not sent anywhere.
What leaves your phone
Purchases. If you buy BawiPOS Pro, payment is made through your Apple ID (App Store) or Google account (Google Play); we never see your card details. RevenueCat, the service we use to check purchases, receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription history, and basic technical details such as your device's operating system, app version, country and IP address. It uses them to confirm that Pro is active and to restore it on another phone. See revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.
Messages to us. When you use Help and feedback, the app prepares an email that you check and send from your own email app. It contains what you write, a screenshot if you add one and, if you leave "Include app details" on, the app version, phone model and system, plan, language, currency, how many items you have, whether you have sales, and a short install code. It never includes your sales, customers or prices.
Cloud sync (Pro). If you turn it on, a backup of your store is saved every day to your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive, in a private folder that only BawiPOS can open, not your other files. It is kept by Apple or Google under its privacy policy; we can't see it. Turn it off any time in Backup and restore.
Files you share. Backups, spreadsheets (CSV), receipts and reports are saved or sent wherever you choose, for example iCloud Drive or Google Drive, Files, email or a chat app. That service's own privacy policy then applies.
Google user data
If you turn on Cloud sync on Android, BawiPOS asks you to sign in with Google and to allow access to its own app folder in your Google Drive (the “drive.appdata” permission). BawiPOS uses this access only to save your store's backups in that folder, list them, and download or delete them when you restore a backup or old backups are cleaned up. It cannot see, change or delete any of your other Google Drive files.
BawiPOS reads your Google account's email address only to show which account is connected. Your Google data goes directly between your phone and Google: it never passes through our servers, and we do not store, sell or share it, or use it for advertising. To stop access, turn off Cloud sync in Backup and restore, or remove BawiPOS at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
BawiPOS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Phone permissions
- Camera: to scan barcodes. Images from scanning are not saved.
- Photos: to add item photos, your store logo, or a screenshot to feedback. Only the photos you choose are used.
- Bluetooth: to find and print to receipt and kitchen printers.
- Face ID or fingerprint: to unlock the app instead of typing your PIN, if you turn it on.
You can turn any permission off in your phone's settings; only the matching feature stops working.
Your customers' information
The information you record about your customers is yours. You decide what to collect and how long to keep it, and you are responsible for handling it as the law requires, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 in the Philippines. We cannot see it.
Keeping and deleting data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it: delete single records in the app, delete a store in Settings, Stores, or remove everything in Settings, Backup and restore, Erase all data. Uninstalling BawiPOS deletes everything the app kept on the phone; backups you saved elsewhere are not affected.
Purchase records are kept by Apple or Google and RevenueCat under their own policies. We keep emails you send us only as long as needed to help you, then delete them.
Security
Your data is protected by your phone's own security. Use a screen lock on your phone, turn on the BawiPOS PIN if others use the phone, and keep backups somewhere safe: anyone with a backup file can restore its data.
Children
BawiPOS is made for businesses. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and similar laws, you may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you (such as a support email), and you may object to its use. Contact us at adrianabogacalma@gmail.com. You may also complain to the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines (privacy.gov.ph). For purchase records, you can also contact Apple or Google or RevenueCat.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on our website, with a new effective date. Important changes will be pointed out in the app.
